Unsure of my destination
In this divided nation
Accept me for who I am
I’m not a sacrificial lamb
Look with an opened lens
Why can’t we be friends?

An autumn rally of the bourgeoisie
All expecting immunity
After a speaker of insanity
Thinks he talks with probity
Laws insist we let this course
Play out, expecting no remorse.

😳And while we’re at it, why not do this🤯:

How I wished for the rose bouquet
Any old or special day
Hastily picked wildflowers would do
Anything presented, gifted from you
Alas, my shining armored knight
Never had that thought in mind.

Note: I wonder if this sight will give pause to the non-masked attendees at tomorrow’s rally–probably not.

September 16. Write a poem on the theme of echo, any length.
She hollered “hello”
In the mountains hollow
Was answered in kind
As her echo did find
Wanted the earth to hear her plea
An answer to why there was no peace
The mountains were silent, no answer here
She asked again, in absence of fear
“Why” she repeats as the echo rings
“Why no peace in everything?”
She stared at the skyline so blue
The answer came “It’s up to you”

Living alone definitely has some advantages. I was thinking this today as I drank straight out of the orange juice bottle in my fridge. There are more:
1. Not having to close the bathroom door when taking a shower or shaving or—
2. Not sharing the remote, watching anything anytime you want
3. Eating any time of day, no three meals a day
4. Singing, dancing or listening to any music with no complaint
5. Small loads of laundry, small electric and water and grocery bills
6. Waking and sleeping on my own schedule
7. Room temperature control
Then of course the disadvantages:
1. Always showering alone😳
2. No interesting conversations about a movie or tv show while watching
3. No sharing meals
4. I don’t dance anymore and I never could sing
No disadvantage on 5 or 7.
6. I won’t expand on this😅
What are yours?🧐🤓

In 1972 we moved from Houston, Texas to Colorado. Our three kids had never seen snow and it just happened to end up being one of the worst storms in history after we moved in. Our daughter was one and she and I got the flu. I remember trying to eat a fast food hamburger when trying to get everyone settled, and could not. Naturally our first shopping trip was for cold weather jackets, boots, mittens etc. This was a climate change for us but we loved it after we were settled.

When she stepped into the barroom
He felt that old desire
What he thought he had forgotten-
Embers of their fire
She only glanced around the tables
Didn’t know he would be there
It was only when she saw him
Remembered how she cared
Life had come between them
Separation by their pasts
Sad desolation caused them not to last.
Cruelty of circumstance, and
Tragedy would have its dance,
Couldn’t overcome it, were given no last chance.
He picked up the bottle, leaving memories behind
Didn’t try to speak to her, thinking it more kind.
She pretended not to see him
But her heart was well aware
She wouldn’t let him see any feeling she might care.
Love and life sometimes, is not that pictured book
She turned and left hurriedly, without a second look.
