My choice this week is “La La Land” starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

Nothing new for me you’re thinking. . .but I have to give a public thumbs up thank you to law enforcement this day. I dreaded the news of the Washington DC rally yesterday but was proud of the preparation, presence and actions of the peacekeepers. Good job!
It’s always my opinionated views here on the blog and trying to defund the police is crazy. Like every other profession, you find the unreasonable bullies and bigots, but most of these men and women are putting their lives on the line for the public every day. So I say: thank you!

Joe spent the night inebriated
Much alcohol was allocated
Next day his coach was livid
For his team no help given
He should have waited till the holidays
To celebrate his debauchering ways.

Ramshackle
I never thought of my home as a palace
However the need of repair was a malice
Electric outlets were a precious few
All needed a basic renew
The outside eaves were moldy and musty
Wires next to them were dirty and dusty
The porch door was loose on its hinges
Neighborhood cats came in on binges
Bathroom was small and too confining
Caused more than a bit of whining
Windows had roll out handles
Only worked when not covered in brambles
Cement steps were used front and back
Had to be careful of the cracks.

I try not to think of WordPress as an adversary, but refuse to be contrite after thinking it safe to update once again. I believe I am no exception, thinking, disaster! I’ve now lost the ability to use the classic editor, which means images take forever to load and are just what they appear, no adjustments.🥴

The daily sheen of streaming sun in my bedroom window is a sharp reminder that morning has come. By other’s rights, I should try to cover the blinds with a curtain of some kind that would keep me snoozing a while longer when the line of brightness seeks to wake me. But like a moth to a flame, there is nothing but streaks of sun I prefer. I feel free without the sounding fray of an alarm.

Puzzle me a jigsaw
Make it colored bright
I’ll gather all the pieces
Fit them together tight
If only life was like that
No edges skinny or fat
No discrimination of shape or color
Just enjoy the completed sight.

Stay the course. Accept the challenge. The instructor is coarse and difficult, but his approach is a ruse. Except for a few extremely timid students, he will pass every pupil who works hard.

Julie looked up to the neon sign and knocked on the door below it. It’s going to be okay she told herself, it’s only temporary.
Words uttered by every woman entering these doors told themselves—“just till”. For Julie the idea of dancing for strangers wearing tiny strips of material was only the beginning. Her self esteem crashed, resulting in drug induced nights to withstand strangers’ touches.
Returning home in early morning, it seemed her children looked right through her and she felt she was disappearing. This was not the only way up. This was not how she intended her family to survive.

I woke up fuzzy headed, it must have been a long night. My eyes seem to have technicolor lenses as I look out my window. I must have drunk more than I thought or maybe I was drugged? I see purple everywhere. I stumble to the bathroom and look in the mirror. My eyes are black and blue, head’s killing me.
What could have happened I wonder?
Then my roommate Joe came to stand beside me, put his hand on my shoulder. “That was some party, man. I didn’t know you could fight like that! You have quite a temper!”
