The Bag Lady

As you know by now I am in a newly constructed apartment complex. My own apartment is ADA outfitted with wonderful appliances but there is a problem. The dumpster for trash is huge and no access by wheelchair available. It’s a problem to keep trash in my apartment since I have no garbage disposal and lots of veggie trash-don’t think about it too much.😳🙄

The management knows this but it’s been six weeks and no remedy. My son in law who had me laughing so much said “put it out on the patio”. I replied “It’s against the rules.”

“What will they do” he asked. “Someone will take it. If the mgr complains tell them you have no choice.” Then he went on pretending to be me saying “well I could talk to the ADA and say there’s a problem…..or better yet I’ll have my lawyer do it…….” By this time I was laughing so hard I was tearful! I dearly love him and so blessed to have him.

I bought some large 3mil thick bags and yesterday I put one out full of trash on the patio. This morning it was gone. Like Loki told Thor – “I sent it off I know not where”😀

Joe gave his daughter a hug to soothe her angst about the danger of getting back on the ice. The ramifications of her teammate’s injury veered her willingness to join in. The lake had frozen over in ripples, dips and bumps, causing the ice to be too rough for her to play. She tried to be brave but her dad knew it was a fake attempt. The stakes were not high enough to put his child in danger for a school hockey game.

Always looking for something new to stream, not finding much not geared to teens, I found this: “The Equalizer” starring Latifah, Liza Lipera, Adam Goldberg, and other well known actors. It might come off as a “little too easy” as she solves crimes, but I like the actors and the premise. Needless to say, the original movie starring ♥️Denzel Washington♥️ is my favorite to play this role, but Queen L. does a great job. It is contemporary with good messages in these times.

I had the “fortune” to watch my granddaughter’s basketball games today . It was televised and we played Sheridan High School in Wyoming. I can only watch. There is no sound and sometimes no time or score shown. It’s videoed by a computer which is irritating.

You won’t remember but Sheridan was an obnoxious set of parents and game players when I watched one of my grandsons play soccer a few years ago.

Since this is SoCS I will tell you I have a hard time seeing the benefit to students when refs for the school we visited completely bend the rules and encourage their players to commit uncalled fouls, stand and laugh when we suffer a false foul that didn’t exist. Students on the sidelines laughed and cheered at every opportunity. This is not sportsmanship. It is cheating. These refs are adults!

You may think this a tempest in a teapot but where do you think kids taught like this end up? In front of the Jan 6 riot group or worse? It is shameful.
