Looking up to the dark gray color in the cloud and then down to the trenches surrounding him, he searched his mind but found nothing positive.
“Why not come out, you lazy sun, just sitting up there? Are you rejecting what you see? Next you will be shining on our enemy! This earth has been in war for too many years, and yet you forgive the mass kill and suffering, and choose to shine on them alone!

“I wish you wouldn’t use that term.”
“What term? You mean gobsmacked?”
“Yes, of course, you sound like a holdover from the 1930s who has watched too many movies.”
“Well then, my love, I could say your love makes me feel like the cat’s pajamas!”
“Or I could say your body makes me want to groove with you all night at the disco!”
“Now you’re talkin’, right on, baby!”

She dressed a bit provocative,
however it was not evocative
of her mind or personality,
merely a statement of fragility.
Once she started blooming, and noticed certain grooming
enhanced her beauty rare,
it seemed as if they cared.
Parents, friends and even a child,
were drawn into her, wild
to touch the forbidden realm
with none to help or steer her helm.

Friday is here once again and so is your Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. Today’s prompt is a repeat from six and a half years ago. I bet you don’t remember what your post was about if you were around back then! And if you do? Sorry. Come up with something else. Haha! Today’s prompt is in line with the letter of the day for tomorrow’s A-Z Challenge. Here’s your prompt:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “too/to/two.”Use one, use ’em all, bonus points if you use all three. Extra bonus points if you start your post with one. Enjoy!

It usually takes two, you know, like me and you? Of course if you are too busy, or don’t want to, I’ll be okay with that.
I’m talking about dancing the tango—what were you thinking?😂

That’s how long it took to play the “Star Spangled Banner”. The “Star Spangled Banner” is the USA national anthem. Is it too much to ask for sports teams on the sidelines to pay attention to their country’s flag for one minute and 35 seconds? Is that too long to pay a tribute to the land you are privileged to live in?
Watching sports in particular I see people talking, running around, walking, jumping up and down—hardly anyone has a hand over their heart anymore or taking their beloved ball cap off! I think this is a basic problem of disrespect that showed itself completely and horrifically on January 6.

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a black traditional style lamppost set beside a stone pathway in amongst some hedging.

Inferiority
An ordinary meet
An ordinary place
Hiding in the hedgerow
Just to see your face.
I sent a secret note
To meet him there
Knowing that it’s not from me
That you would be there.
