Six Sentence Story

***

It could have been a film, one of those overly saccharine movies where the outcome is no surprise. I should have recognized it right away. Everything was too perfect. I chose not to reminisce about my threadbare heart, and the now thin thread was about to break. Maybe it was knowledge of the weakness that made me, pushed me, to test it one more time. I took the step unarmed, and found myself alone once more.

let me persuade you, please just shake off your hard earned veneer

there’s a festival waiting, it is life’s entertainment

to let yourself free to enjoy, is certainly not a weakness

dVerse Poets Prosery

Mary admired him…his dark lean stature, his black leather clothing, especially the air of mystery about him. The first time she saw him was a gathering at the basement club where jazz played every Friday.
Her first encounter she felt nervous but quickly drawn to him, following him to a private booth where he plied her with a sweet blood red wine. Mary was loosening her reserve.
Guiding her through heavy curtains, Mary followed with no anxiety, feeling stirrings of passion. She stumbled slightly and he swept her up to keep her from falling. She succumbed to his advances, thoroughly entranced by his presence. It was lovely she thought as he touched her, held her, kissed her deeply. Mary felt the prick of his fangs, and opened her eyes, realizing what he was. To her, death is quite romantic, falling back in his arms.

Fandango’s Story Starter

WHEN HE HEARD THE SOUND OF VOICES COMING FROM THE ABANDONED BUILDING, HE KNEW…he was right. Detective Joe Jones was usually right. In his thirty years as a detective his instincts were almost always correct. The young whippersnappers thought everything could be solved with a computer, but he knew better. On his direction, they entered the warehouse and found the stolen goods and their owner, tied up, but unharmed.

Let Them Rise

***

Those feelings sitting there, down low

Youth thought they were tied—a bow

On the gift, a present to be opened

But here they lie, still unspoken

Life happened and caused their tide

To stop moving and left to reside

Down in your deepest part

Hidden there by your heart

Now is the time, let them rise

Ignore other offered advice

Speak often and in doing so

Those feelings will start to show.

One Liner Wednesday/What day is it anyway?

One thing—it’s not the 10th. Last night I showed up in the lobby for a mandatory meeting on the 10th at 6 PM. I found the kaffeeklatsch playing cards there and what the real date was. I have been a day behind all week. At least nothing important was discussed, not many people showed up and the main subject was people not picking up their dog poop. Of course people that would show up to a mandatory meeting are probably the ones that are already doing that. JMO.

I have missed quite a few prompts already and I’ll try to catch up today. I opened my email today and found out I had 221 pieces of spam. The problem is I have to go through and sort that out because for some reason Yahoo is putting all of my regular mail into spam. I have tried using the different filters but I can’t figure them out.

I hope to do some catch up today. I have been out at various doctor appointments and of course my granddaughter is getting married this Sunday so everything is extremely busy at the moment. Homecoming was a hit last Saturday night and 16 year old granddaughter looked absolutely gorgeous.

Have a good week, it’s not Friday yet is it?😂
