The Sunday Whirl

Throbbing headaches starting with his eyes scrolled down to the back of his neck. His ears couldn’t seem to stop hearing a constant buzz, probably provoked by her words. Fiery rays of sunrise fell on him as he stood on the ledge of the mountain. He needed to clear his head and hoped the fresh morning breeze would find him dreaming; the trust that would fall into hate only a nightmare.

He drove up to the farm in a black BMW and strode right out to the henhouse. Curious as to the visitor, the old woman came out of her home carrying a threatening cane at her side. “What do you think you’re doing?”

The gentleman replied, “ I’m here to ask the henessars some questions.”

“The what?”

“The henessars! The ones who take such wonderful care of their broods that produce the best eggs in the county!”

The old lady put the cane down and smiled. “How about a cup of cider?” The two sat on the porch and had a talk.

3TC – Expectation

She was ensnared with a month of color, blithe in her expectations. The width of promise in his eyes lasted nine days, ended completely in ten. Then her sepia toned life continued.

SoCS 9-30-23

Started humming this song today after my granddaughter who works with college students sent a message saying, “I don’t know what’s in the air”. She just received another plant from another student. I sent her the song “Love is in the Air” 1978. Her students love her and she’s very good at her job. Another friend said “what goes around comes around”. The song is great for dancing but the words are a little repetitive😂 Whatever, I love 80s music!
