As I was trying to give up sugar and therefore, joy, I started to hallucinate. I saw an angry moon, not the serene orb of yesterday and I began to wonder if even the moon thought these are precious things and not to be tossed aside. Then I went back inside and ate a big hot fudge sundae with extra toppings.

We used to shake, rattle and roll in the fifties. Bill Haley and the Comets were on the radio day and night. Even American Bandstand hosted by Dick Clark made you shake your tail feathers. Fifty years of tv, watching band performers and teens dancing – even I was shocked to think it was fifty years! American Bandstand won Emmy awards and I was even surprised to read that. I guess it rattled my brain – doesn’t take much.
