look out my window
patio with empty pots
though hope sees blossoms
feelings of promise in vine
not nourished and still striving

I love plants and miss flowers I could not afford this year, so pots stand empty. I thought this bit of green was a weed, but now I think it is part of a honeysuckle plant I had in this pot last year. It seems Im surrounded by a discouraging world and this plant gives me hope.

I love that hope is the contrast to the stark misery of the world.

I was reading this quote in a book where a βbad guyβ said that all you need to do to win is destroy hope

Yes, I have heard that quoted, and I think it’s so true.

Striving is a good word. Sometimes that’s all they can do. Let’s hope it turns to thriving, and the world with it.

I hope your plant survives, Cheryl. We can never give up, and make the best of every moment.
