MLMM – Unrest

Respond to this Friday Faithfuls challenge by writing anything about people who blame others so they can avoid taking responsibility for their own actions or feelings, or about people that feel that their problems are always someone else’s fault, or about people that like to manipulate others and are willing to do everything and anything to avoid taking responsibility for their actions, or if you have ever heard of National Blame Someone Else Day, or you can go with anything else that you think would fit.

I agree that certain sycophantic congressmen and women delight in following and promoting lies and actions taken by our new (king, overlord, throne seeker, usurper, world hater, narcissist) and other words that describe our nation’s president at this time. Compare the actions of trump with nazis in the 1930’s. It is scary and could be stopped if our congress people who are supposed to represent the people of their areas. Aren’t the actions and protests telling them all they are sorrowfully wrong? Compare:

Collecting truths

***

Is the sun shining? I am a light collector – if I wake to the sun, I am refreshed. A cloudy, dark morning makes me want to stay in bed.

Word collecting is on my mind as I read blogs and search the web for meanings and hope to use them in some way every day.

Having to admit I’m an emotional garbage collector on some days is true but it’s rare for me. I try to stay even minded but these days in my country, it is difficult.

Busyness stopped is shown on this dusty desk as the outspoken owner and author is under arrest. True enough he spoke the words and received a reprimand, no rewards. Well known books and news outlets speak and report our government representatives are weak. What it takes for change are people who speak the truth and are willing to stand up! Sadly it seems the typewriter will suffer no more finger tapping this summer.

Morning sun

Highlights your auburn hair

Streaks of red mixed with gold brown compete

Daring words

Eyes remind of oceans

The blue green of the sea reflected

Golden sand

Your skin shines through with gold

Soft and warm and pleasing textures too

Lovely smile

Unafraid to spread wide

Reactions to simple affections

our country used to be seemingly safe

where citizens against government stood

while innocent protests held didn’t chafe

and “official” men wore no masks or hoods

this is the state of our country, sadly

even children are suffering actions, badly

I chose number four, although it is still embarrassing, I think I’m the only one left that remembers it. We had a coal burning furnace in our house and a grate on the floor in the living room. Apparently, because I was a baby and have no memory of it, I carried my bedroom potty container into that room and dumped it on the grate. The worst thing about it was the pastor from church was in that room visiting with us.

Books, books, books

I have to take a look

Especially books like these

Leather bound, to appease

The smell of leather, olden pages

Full of some of the fond phrases

A trip to another world

As precious pages are unfurled

A treasure trove of adventure

The reader sent as the pen endures

A person who reads has knowledge

Can take on a new voyage

Reading is essential

To aid mental potential.

Blue

I think of it as a miracle when I see a flower that is blue. Flowers are usually white, pink, yellow, red, even orange and purple, but a vibrant blue takes the cake. Speaking of cakes, have you ever eaten blue frosting on a cake? That is a sure way to dye your teeth.
I’m not as serious as possibly I should be with this post about blue. I try not to be in a blue mood and if I am it doesn’t last long. The days can sometimes come at you like a canon and you think “I can’t stand this. Why is this happening to me? What have I done to deserve this.”
This last year has been tough and it’s been tough on the whole family. My daughter started a new job and that takes her away from her last daughter who graduated as a senior from our high school here in Cheyenne. August 11 she will be leaving for college in South Dakota. I know as having my daughter leave for college and at the same time we left for Houston from Denver – that was extremely rough on my husband and I and we went through about two years of being very blue. Blue times have come and gone as they do in every family, but when I think of my granddaughter going to college in a very nice place and being able to play soccer which she loves, it will make us all happy. I love blue in almost all forms, especially blue eyes, which get my attention anytime I meet a new person . Bring on the blue!
