MLMM Photo Challenge #259

The scene was exactly as expected. She looked down to see the look of wonder on her son’s face. He too was realizing a dream come true. His mother hoped this would be the answer, a reason to go on. She had written her uncle who lived by himself here and asked if they could visit.

It was a few months earlier that Marion and her son, Tom had lost the love of their lives, husband and father, Jack. A freak accident at his work and a sudden death to deal with. Being so young, thinking their lives were starting so well–their marriage, a son, a good paying job, everything falling into place. The factory was not a dangerous place to work these days with every machine automatic, but safety was often a second thought because machines are not supposed to make mistakes.

The news was almost overwhelming for Marion and her son, who was still young enough not to realize he would never see his father again. As the weeks wore on Tom became more despondent. Marion thought this trip to her uncle would be respite for them both. Her idea came as she was looking at an old photo album and showed Tom the picture of her uncle’s home.

Tom picked a few flowers and then ran down the hill. Marion saw her uncle come out to greet them. She finally felt some relief when she saw him, knowing she had made the right decision.

MLMM Wordle #129

It was unmistakable, his stomach growling loud enough to wake the dead. He smiled as he thought of that old saying, but it was not just a saying here. The boy shrank down, trembling in the dark. The ship coming in sight at the curved contour of the coastline made him shiver.

What ruthless brood of pirates would be coming this night? His father beside him readied his pistol, not only for protection but to try to reassure his son they would be safe. The localized band of residents remained steadfast to protect their families in this small village. Coiled for the attack, the ship drew near.

A bright sphere of the moon lit the scene, and all breathed a sigh of relief as the ship moved out of the bay into open water. The village was safe once again.

FOWC:Turnover

You guessed it, a perfect word for the state of our nation’s government today. It’s like the White House is equipped with a revolving door. Maybe it has one? I’ve never been, as I’m sure most of the United States’ (almost a misnomer these days) citizens have not. If you pay for something and it doesn’t perform well, you take it back and return it. We are paying our government’s salaries by taxes, due today, but we are not satisfied with the product. What can we do? What should we do?

Wp woes

Sorry everyone. I can’t leave comments for some reason on your sites, I’ll try email. No matter of waiting, tapping, etc lets my iPad respond. Probably me, or iPad. How long are they supposed to last? I know iPhones are only good for a year or so, at least that’s what I’ve heard. My iPad is 7-8 years old. I could use my phone but WP doesn’t recognize me. If you get anonymous comments, it might be me😂🙄😳😄

Have a great problem free day! Like that’s going to happen. . .

FFF #9 – Eeeek!

Charlie had finally completed the hairless trinket. Working on it tirelessly for the past week, it could finally be wound up to move on its own. The purple eyes were a great addition, he mused, for her favorite color was purple. Using her favorite picture frame edges for the legs was genius! Her ancient treasured music box provided the key to make it crawl and her wedding necklace the rest.

As he admired his work, he thought just how he would put his plan into action–wait till she was going to sit for tea in the conservatory, place the wound up spider under her napkin covered biscuits, and wait for the scream!

He could hardly contain his giggles as he joined her for tea.

A to Z Challenge N – Nature

Mother Nature is showing her prowess in Vermont–from my sister:

“We listened to rocks rolling in the brook…’torrent’ through the night and thunder…fire and water rescue went by at 6:30am…there is a washout somewhere…saw a thirty foot hemlock float down through… says this is the worst flooding since 2011.”

I’m hoping their bridge to the road stays put this year.

Movie Monday

I’ve seen this a few times, still love it. If you like it too, check out others by the same company. I love music, it brings out all different emotions in me and I must have a lot of them! : ) I have the soundtrack, play it often. Soul and blues have a lot of emotion, as does opera. All are favorites of mine.
