FOWC: Hustle

If life contains much bustle

You also will try to hustle

Moving fast, accomplishing much

Ignoring parts of life and such

Today I stopped, looked at old pics

Spent the day deciphering bits

About one, didn’t seem to know

Put there on the drive to show

Curiously I looked again

Trying to see, find out just when

This unknown photo was taken

Curiosity turned to shaking

Not in fear but anger, seeing

A woman, a stranger being

Secrets kept and yet survive

On a hidden small flash drive

****

Curiosity did not kill this cat : )

“Just a bit further, Mother Goose, I promise. The sun is going down and we have to arrive before dark.”

Mary, Mary quite contrary was actually being nice this afternoon when asking Mother Goose to take her to the country to see how Mary’s garden was growing. Mary had been busy partying in the village, ignoring her responsibilities, and had little boy blue checking on things for her at the farm.

Unfortunately Mary received an urgent message from wee willie winkie saying there were problems at the farm. Little boy blue had fallen asleep and the animals were ruining the crop.

She also had hired little Jack Horner to keep a watchful eye, but he was of no use, just sat eating pie. Mary’s other friend Mary had let her lambs run through the garden too, so Mary contrary was on a tear trying to right these wrongs.

Meanwhile the old woman who lived in her shoe just watched and chuckled thinking Miss Contrary got what she deserved.

FOWC: Spendthrift

by rugby843, posted in Uncategorized
Because of my current vacuum blues
A new one I am forced to choose
I have no extra funds to lose
I’m not a spendthrift–that’s not news.
We took it all apart and cleaned
Nothing unusual was seen
Screwed it back and tried to clean
Doesn’t work, now that’s just mean!
Throw it out, someone suggested
What about the money vested
Shouldn’t it work, am I being tested?
Have that salesman be arrested.
Calm yourself I tiredly thought
Wasn’t the best one that I bought
But still it should work, should it not?
Choosing a new one is what I’ve wrought.
