Virus Panic

It would be helpful to all involved

If actual facts of this virus evolved

We can visualize people in panic

With such varying information, people are manic

Outbreaks, school closings seem to abound

Wish we had info that’s sound.

(Panic has come to Denver where toilet paper is nowhere to be found. 😱. As for me, scarcities in the grocery but my daughter persevered, and I have my monthly larder filled.

Thank Heavens for Indoor Plumbing!

Morning comes with no sleep prior to two. At four cars are warming up, ice is being scraped off windshields, garbage trucks arrive at five or six, and the morning begins. Reluctantly rising from warm coverings, a finally relaxed comfortable body stretches and throws off the remnants of comfort. The first priority is always the **loo, an English word I prefer to bathroom, and then a wash and trip to the kitchen for coffee.

Not really an exciting time, but enjoyable as I warm my hands with the hot mug, and open the iPad to read the news, and more importantly, what lovely words have been written by fellow bloggers. Then I visit prompts and challenges. By the time I’m finished, morning has disappeared.

FFFC#56 – Are You Kidding Me?

Just a few more steps, you can make it.

I don’t know, I’m going to take a breather. Say Mike, when did they start putting plants in the middle of stairways? Look at it, just hanging there!

I have no idea, maybe they’re trying to combine the old and new. This building was famous for this stairway in the forties.

Well, in the forties the plant would be on the floor, the bottom floor, not suspended from a railing.

These new fangled designers, really, are you kidding me?

dVerse Poets – Pleasing Palpitations

***

Feelings start to brew

Bubbles activated by the stir

Pop up to the surface

Slowly activating familiar feelings

Always hidden in your smile

Never fully realizing how soft touches

And warm sensations spread

Lingering in certain spaces.

Your infallible knowledge,

Ever-present, stirs my emotions.

Sap Moon

Growing up in Vermont, maple sugar time was when sugar maple trees started producing a clear sweeter than sweet liquid called sap. Burr holes in the bark held a small faucet type tap where the bail of a bucket rested. They were great places to get a drink. Of course that was strictly forbidden, but you know kids!

The sap was gathered in tanks and then boiled down into different grades of maple syrup. It tastes much different than the Mrs. Butterworth version.

Homegrown aficionados prefer the darker full bodied grade, where newcomers to the treat always pick the lightest, fancy grade. Whatever you prefer, don’t let life go by without trying this delicious natural treat.
