MLMM First Line Friday 3-13-20

If the music didn’t get any better he was going to take that pill Kelsey kept offering him.  It wouldn’t be like it was the first time. He adjusted his headphones and sat back in his seat. It was her birthday after all and we were all there to help her celebrate. The fact that Kelsey was the only one who actually enjoyed this type of music and the idea of the rest of us going with her, now seemed a bad choice. For the amount of money, we could have just given her front row tickets and let her choose someone to go with her. Instead, we all sat uncomfortably enduring the so-called music.

Maybe he should take the offered pill after all. He knew from experience it would settle him into a semi sleep state and he could just listen to Bach on his headphones in peace.

Fandango’s Friday Flashback from 3-12-18

Daily Prompt: Captivating

This may not be captivating, but was on my mind when I couldn’t sleep because of a stomach ache which is better today.

Other Halves

Every realize you can’t do without

The other half? Can’t re-route?

Why is this I wonder?

Kick without can

Jack without Jill

Peanut without butter

Toast without jam

Flim without flam

Bada-bing without bada-boom

Bath without room

Fink without rat

This without that

Basket without ball

Big without small

To without fro

Curly without Moe

Two without three

You without me.

💙

3TC 3-13-20

“It’s none of your concern” she said sharply to a young man offering help. Pushing the cart up the sidewalk, she strained at the weight and slight incline of the cement. This was a daily occurrence for the homeless woman but she never dared be away from her tawdry possessions that overflowed the conveyance. She refused care of help from strangers and preferred isolation. After years of being hounded and used by an uncaring family, the life she led by herself was not an unhappy one.

Connections

I was thinking as I read Bikergurl’s post today that it might be good if we all keep in touch with each other on the virus conditions in our personal areas. For instance I live in Wyoming and so far so good, except for panic shopping. Not a thermometer in sight and even on Amazon they say April at least.

I think honest “reporting” by us bloggers would be more reliable than the news outlets.

What do you think? Yea or nay?

RDP: Green

What a word with so many uses

Easy to write, accept no excuses

We could all use a little more green

Whether in your checkbook or planet earth’s scene

And then there’s the novice, said to be green

In factual matters he has not seen

Myself, I prefer the country to malls

Where greenery may be enjoyed by all.

Weekly Terrible Poetry – Cute? Things Kids Say

Guest for dinner, sort of a slob

Kids fascinated by the blob

Of food overrelished, mouth open wide

Children couldn’t believe their eyes

The oldest pipes up to my dread

“You must be really hungry!” he said

The guest must not have heard or ignored

As more helpings in cheeks he stored.

dVerse Poets – Lists

Coffee for two

Excellent choice

Tea with sugar

I rejoice

Chocolate chips melt on my tongue

Remembering warm cookies when I was young

Lemons and oranges to brighten the taste

Not even rinds should go to waste

Gin with a twist either lemon or lime

When shopping is done, a drink sublime.

Dangerous games being played

False information displayed

Not a simple game on a board

Chess with lives as people hoard

Panic seems to be the rule

Leader acts as always a fool

“The game is afoot” has been written

There’s no fun in this game submitted.
