Copy and Paste

Before I knew all the rules

I was constantly fooled

Trying to copy without miss takes

Oh what a mess I would make

Even now I’m a copying fool

Sometimes my knowledge of the tool

Leaves a bit to be desired

If employed I would be fired

For oftentimes in my haste

It doesn’t all adhere in the paste

And what to my wondering eyes should appear

Something not meant, too odd for my sphere.

Haste makes waste – a little bit sexist, but–1575☺️

Making Bread

I got the message, make your own bread

It’s the kneading part that I dread

I’d use a food processor for the dough instead

But that would require getting out of bed.

50 Word Thursday – The Joke’s on Him

Mr. Jones took the social distancing rule a bit too far when checking on the herd of cows on his farm. Early in March he installed a hidden camera in the scarecrow. The curious cows became used to clicking noises from the structure, and laughed secretly, hiding behind the trees.

“A little goes a long way”…true words for almost everything in life unless of course you are speaking of love, compassion, coffee, chocolate—(insert your own favorites). We need a bit more of the love and compassion these days, and I’m sending it out to you today!♥️🤗😌👩🏻‍🦰

Time to Write 5-1-20

“It’s my birthday, it’s my birthday!” she yells as she jumps up and down on her parents’ bed. It is five in the morning and Julie kept her curtains opened all night so she would wake up the instant it was light outside.

Julie’s mom begrudgingly opens her eyes and grabs her phone to check the date. With no work days for a while she needed the phone to know what day it was. “Oh, no, Julie, it’s tomorrow, but don’t worry, it’ll be here before we know it.”

Julie takes a minute to realize what her mom said and then starts jumping on the bed again. “Okay, it can be Charlie’s birthday then”, holding up her favorite teddy bear for her mom to see. Julie’s mom pulls up the covers.
