He held the poisoned tabasco sauce and poured an invisible bit onto the spiced meat dish he knew she loved. No doubt she would call for a nurse, but too late. He would pretend upset in the windmill of chaos that ensued.

Carrie looked up to see her painting on display. She smiled as she gave her husband a hug. Her hard work was coming to fruition as she proudly eyed her artwork. The cafe was an off broadway location for actors to enjoy themselves after a night of theater. The locals knew to leave them alone after the theater closed, but even then, the restaurant’s popularity was growing. Soon it would not be the safe haven for the celebrities. The cozy atmosphere and colorful decor was inviting, and Carrie was overjoyed to see her contribution displayed along with well known artists.

She ran her hand beneath the park bench and sure enough, just as he said, she felt the envelope secured there by tape. Sara was so excited she could barely open the note! Her fingers fumbled and then before she opened the paper to read, she sighed at the thought of her soon to be husband, Jim. He was everything she always wanted! Sara opened the paper to read: “I’m sorry, Sara, but I’ve decided to join the French Foreign Legion. I left this morning at nine.” Sara fainted.

Helen had been told her looks were ordinary and not to expect any man to take an interest in her. Instead they said, rely on your brain and sharpen your skills in the world of science. Helen believed her parents and threw herself into her studies, earning a doctorate in cosmetic sciences. Now at 38, she finally stopped experimenting on herself.
