Six Sentence Story

Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers. PROMPT WORD: CONSOLE

Trying to console oneself.

Immediate tears flow down cheeks.

Every attempt to stop (feeling) thwarted.

Well wishers, sympathizers, abound.

Pain continues as a loved one’s life drains.

There is no consolation.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

Thoughts Near Death

All dreams rejected
Faith previously respected
Leave me feeling dejected
I might have suspected
As one thing led to another collected
Brain, mind stood, and objected
Then a sneaking suspicion detected
A feeling of fear, and unprotected
Old memories visited and selected
Filtered as if dissected
No longer safely connected
Their mind with disease affected
Barriers of truth erected
Feelings of resentment projected
Only the basic form of love accepted.

Weekend Writing Prompt #320 – Dejected

SYW 7-12-23

Here are this week’s questions:

1. How do you like your coffee/tea? I make a latte – warm every morning at home but if I’m out to lunch I might have iced tea.

2. Are you a dunker (of biscuits/cookies)? Absolutely not

3. What is your favourite biscuit/cookie? Homemade peanut butter and I make great onesšŸ˜‚

4. Have you ever baked your own biscuits/cookies? All the time before I was stuck in a wheelchair. Even though my apartment says handicapped the shelves are still too high for cooking easily. It doesn’t help that I’m losing height every day.

Gratitude: I’m grateful to have my health as my second oldest sister passed away three weeks ago and my next sister is in hospice now. It has been a horrid couple of months.

Time Passes Quickly

Twelve months doesn’t sound like much, does it? Birthdays, anniversaries, vacations, holidays and appointments make it seem shorter than the 365 days it encompasses. January, freezing in a blizzard, you think this is the longest month. I wish it was over! Suddenly it is.

Fandango’s Story Starter

This week’s Story Starter teaser is: I unlocked the door as quietly as I could and slipped into the dark kitchen when my wife suddenly flicked on the lights, temporarily blinding me.

ā€œWhat the dickens?ā€ I screamed! ā€œAre you trying to give me a heart attack?ā€ Joe tried shoving and hiding the cookies behind the jar he had just been raiding.

ā€œIt’s okay Joe, I know the scent of chocolate chip cookies is your nemesis.ā€ They both sat down at the table and had a midnight snack of milk and cookies.
