Daily Addictions: Muse and MLMM Saturday Mix 11-10-18

It used to be simple

You were my muse

Delighted in every vowel you used

Telling me how you loved me

Does love ever last?

Can it really be without ending too complicated?

I used many consonants trying to keep you near

But the two vowels I remember most are

Love….

Over and end.

SoCS 11-10-18

Lucy always seemed to be mean to Charlie. We all know that was her means of expressing her fondness for him. Charlie of course, being male, was oblivious.

It’s a balmy forty degrees this morning. Tomorrow a high of twenty something and snow. I mean, it’s winter here! It is practically the middle of November and I agree with Danny over at https://dreambigdreamoften.co that 2018 has gone by in a flash! Here we have winter and summer, no in between. If it’s windy it’s winter and it might get warm enough to enjoy a little beautiful snow. Of course that means road closures, accidents and havoc for emergency personnel, and power outages and house fires by people trying to stay warm. But I have to look on the bright side and see the beauty in the snow.

Have a great weekend….don’t watch any political news, it will ruin it for you!👍🏻🤗

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Nov. 10/18

Phone rant

Just skip this if you do not receive at least five phone calls a day that you need to put onto your auto reject list. I just received notice that my auto reject list was full and had 100 calls on it. The list is below. And this is just in the last two weeks.

I’ve tried calling a few of these numbers just to make sure that they were legitimate which of course they are not. I called one today because it does have my same area code so I thought it might be somebody that I don’t know but should know so I called and said “may I ask who this is because you keep calling and I don’t know who you are” –they hung up. So I called back and of course they put me on to voice mail. I left a message saying I don’t know who you are or what you want but if you don’t stop calling me, I’m going to report your number. I don’t even know if you can report numbers like you used to be able to. I doubt it but I thought I’d say it anyway. Maybe it’ll stop them from calling me.

I also decided I would make a new message for these calls instead of just putting them on auto reject I’m going to leave a voicemail message for them. It is going to say “I am not married, I don’t have any children. I don’t have a car and I don’t drive. I don’t need insurance and I don’t need any medicine. I already have funeral plans paid for. I don’t need any products of any kind so please stop calling.”

This probably won’t work. Hardly anything works anymore–it’s just a robot calling device that just keeps on calling and calling and calling and if you reject one number, they just use another.

I’ve gotten the call at least once a week saying that I needed to renew my warranty on a car that I owned that was totaled in an accident 2 years ago. The first couple times they called I told them those facts and yet they still call me at least once a week.

The irritating thing is I was on a call with my sister and we usually talk for at least an hour and I kept getting beeped in and turned out it was all of these numbers that belong to no one, just some robot from some company somewhere.

Modern technology is definitely not all it is cracked up to be. Maybe it’s just me… It usually is.

100 Word Wednesday

Leaning on the balcony railing, admiring the sight of Paris at night, he could hardly believe it was real. “Oh, gay Paree”, he thought to himself, “how I love you”. Peter had travelled only in the United States but now here he was, fulfilling a dream.

Peter was afforded the opportunity to study in Paris as an exchange student, thus the dream developed. Traveling to all the great cities of the world had always been his ambition. Before arriving here in France, he had only read of its charms and here he was, actually looking at one of the best.

100 Word Wednesday: Week 96

MLMM Tale Weaver #196

Gratitude is one of those things that is sometimes taken for granted by all of us. Yes, all, even me. I realized this when my grandchildren were frequent visitors to my home in Colorado. Even as small children, they always said excuse me, please and thank you. Of course I blame❤️ their parents for that.

It’s easy to take help for granted and not remember to say thank you. Last night when a large man let a door slam into me, twice, a two door entrance, I said “thank you” after the first one, but the second time, I said, “thanks again”, louder, and then, “butthead” to myself. It’s not being in a wc that causes this to happen, it’s everywhere. In the parking lot, turns out he was parked next to us, started backing out as I was transferring from the wc to the car, almost running over my granddaughter as she rolled the chair back to put in the car trunk. As he kept backing out apparently oblivious, he almost ran over my daughter and an older lady she was helping to her car.

After the lessons learned to always say it, from my grandkids, I have used it more. I’ve always used it in public, but at home in everyday life I sometimes forgot. It was probably because I was busy, in pain, trying to get something done, fix a meal or similar circumstances. I was in constant pain for years, so I guess that’s my excuse for being a butthead myself. At work I was always polite and even working retail in later years I bit my tongue and stayed polite.

Now that I have time, I try to always say the words and I love you, to my family and friends. We’ve lost some family the past few years, and telling them how much you appreciate them is very important.

Gratitude is also important on the telephone. Today I returned a call to the rep from my medical supply company to tell her thanks for her suggestions and help. They, no matter who the company you are dealing with, always seem surprised to hear that someone appreciates their help.

My fifteen yr old grandson called the other day, to say hello, which is weird because I see him at least twice a week. I said what’s up? He was on speaker phone and his mom said, “he needs to practice using the phone.” After I stopped laughing, I agreed he does need practice!😂 It’s like writing thank you notes, a skill we all should use. In these days of emails and texts, it seems thank you notes have disappeared.

I guess the gist of my speech here is, EXPRESS your gratitude. Everyone will appreciate and be grateful, feel better, including yourself. And not sarcastically, like I did last night, bad grandma….
