Tell the Story

Crushed Caramel chose the picture above and asked three of us to tell a story about it. Thanks for the gift, I hope I did it justice.

He looked around carefully scrutinizing the street for any untoward movements. His family suspected, but really did not comprehend the danger involved.
His sister in the front of the cart put her hand to her head resting it slightly. Another move, she thought, and will it finally be a safe one?
Some of the smaller children might have looked forward to these moves, finding a different area to scrounge.
Most of the middle children were resigned to the fact that another move meant a different school, always interrupted and feeling out of place once they arrived, their education suffered greatly by the constant placements.
Safety was all that mattered to their older brother, searching the street as he motorcycled behind them. He had long given up on trying to lead a normal life. Now he was the protector and head of the family. The matriarch had been hustled away by soldiers. Constant relocation seemed his only solution to keep his family safe.

The Tell the Story blog chain is a great way to meet new bloggers. I chose the picture below and three bloggers. If they choose to accept, they write a story about my picture below and then choose a new picture and three new bloggers to write their own story. Sounds confusing the way I explain it…..sorry.

The Friday Four

My answers:
With cell phones in your addicted hand constantly, I wouldn’t call that freedom. My answer is much less.

This sounds like a Twilight Zone episode or some other story I can’t remember where the person was asked to prove their existence, and could not. Creepy isn’t it? If you suddenly had no point of reference it would be impossible. If we were trapped in a world we imagined, there would be no Trump.

My only success in life is seeing my children and their children live their best lives, which they do.

My life is not ordinary. I have had many setbacks in health and yet I’m still here. I have died twice in a hospital setting. I have an extremely loving family and I doubt that is ordinary. Just living is never ordinary.

Sorry, late, no excuse
Won’t make up any ruse
Just didn’t feel
Like choosing a reel
For Monday Movie
Saw nothing groovy
Nothing came to mind
So I’ll sit and sigh.
Next week again I’ll try
To find a new worthy flick
That surely will do the trick.

FOWC: Concise

Choosing words
A no-brainer
Unless it’s a Wordle
With the container
Using twelve carefully chosen
To which a story must be woven
A difficult task for me
But one I do, happily.
Rambling on, I just throw the dice
Never intent on being concise
However, sometimes it’s a bit of fun
To see how long I can be on the run
Stories and poems are fun for me
As long as they’re not all reality
I’d rather spin a tale or two
About nature or animals, wouldn’t you?
Farewell

Farewell January
Cold, snowy beast
Unforgiving iced heart
Farewell till the twelfth return
Welcome February
Softer, clearer
Holding warmer hearts
Exchanged

MLMM Tale Weaver #208 +

I was reluctant, thought it wasn’t possible. It was too good, too romantic, too satisfying, and too unlikely to exist. It did. Only for a few short years, and at the zenith of it, I was in heaven here on earth. We made it that, in just a short time, a secret connection in which I found my soulmate. Often resembled, rarely true, yet we found each other.
And as with most seemingly perfect relationships, it collapsed, now crushed under the cold hard stone of reality. The odds were always against us.

Three Line Tales #157

Sitting here waiting
A few seeds if you please, sir
Blue jays were greedy
Ethics, yay or nay?
I received a snapchat from my granddaughter, college sophomore, last night at 1 something and we often have conversations when neither of us can sleep.
She said she was contemplating anything that might seem unethical that she’s done in her life. She’s 20! I assume she’s taking a required Ethics class. I didn’t even know they taught that anymore…and why would they? So I looked it up and yes, they do. It’s the why I don’t get….
By the time you are in college, it is my opinion your morals and ethics system is already ingrained. What do you all think? Is it needed or a waste of time and money by the student? “Enquiring minds want to know”.
