Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt #96

Selling seashells on the seashore

Pink, beige, iridescent and more

Sally loved to display her wares

Where the salty seashore airs

Walking on the sandy beach

Brings treasures trying to reach

The masses to their awareness

To the earth’s fragile rareness

There is no insignificance

In a small shell’s magnificence

Natural beauty we all enjoy

Awareness is Sally’s ploy.

SoCS 3-9-19

Another day, another fifty cents, or less…but it is Saturday and to some people that means a day off and a night to howl! Possibly a birthday bash that doesn’t get too wild so someone gets bashed, or ends up abash. That wouldn’t do. But for me and some other oldies but goodies, the weekend is just two more days in the month. On that boring note, how about some music? I listened to many different Saturday songs, but liked this best.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 9/19

Story Starter 6 – No 911

“Quick, get in here!” John yelled at his wife. “There’s a fire on the carpet!” Mary ran over to get the poker and put the log back into the fireplace. “Watch out for those hot coals, another flame could start up!”

Mary took the shovel from the fireplace tools and scooped up most of the mess. She had all but finished when she turned back to her husband to see if he was all right. At that moment her long robe caught fire on the hem. Not realizing it, she was stunned as the fire took hold and suddenly her entire clothing was burning. Mary couldn’t seem to stop it, and succumbed to the flames.

John remained in his chair, seemingly unconcerned for his wife’s predicament. Buying the flammable robe to gift his wife had been a great choice. “You wanted more heat in our relationship. . .satisfied?”

Genre Challenge 5 – Wild Blue Yonder

Well, Joe, at last! I never thought you could do it, but here we are. I am so in love with you.

It is something, isn’t it? I didn’t know myself if I would be able to manage it, but we’re here, almost a dream come true!

It must have cost a lot, the lessons, the hard work learning, and to think you did it all just for me. I love you even more thinking of that devotion.

I love you too, sweetheart. Oh, could you pass me that flask?

Should you be drinking while flying? I would think that would be against the rules. Couldn’t you lose your license?

What license?

100 Word Wednesday #111

Please, come and sit, join with me

A pleasant view, a cup of tea

Flowers, plants surrounding us

Relax, undo, and think thus:

Life is a garden if you choose

Beauty abounds in every view

No need to take an ocean cruise

To chase away those winter blues.

Come wallow in that pillowed chair

Surely your worries soften there

Winter woes leave, now untethered

Warming thoughts come, unfettered

Earl grey liquids soothe, refreshing

Problems disappear, decreasing

Spring is coming, sky is lightened

With sunny days often invited.

Come, enjoy this atmosphere

Good thoughts only, here

Surrounding you in lovely cheer.
