FOWC: Cantankerous

Well how could I possibly ignore this word? Thanks a lot, Fandango!

You might know me

You might not

However

I won’t put you on the spot

I wouldn’t want to be described

As cantankerous

But every time I read the news

I’m sure I give those vibes

I’d rather be likened to amorous

Or even glamorous. . .

That’s not gonna happen. . .

FFF Challenge 8

A momentous occasion, looked forward to by all. It was to be the “announcement of the century”. At least that’s what the posters proclaimed.

Unfortunately no one showed up. Everyone had given up, there could be no good news to be found on this earth. Everyone stayed home in their own tiny worlds of fear and disappointment.

Years, centuries of promises from campaigns of politicians, religious zealots, even well meaning humanitarians, all had just given up. The poor, the homeless, the sick, needy, the faithful, the agnostics, all tired.

Slowly disappearing green, piles of unrecycled waste, over hunted, over fished, polluted in every way possible, planet earth was dying.

Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge #8

Story Starter 4-8-19

“Why is this so heavy?” Sarah Sanders was having security guards drag a huge bag out of the White House through the secret back entrance. It seems Mr. T had finally been caught out for good and didn’t want anyone to see him sneaking out of the House. Unlike past President Nixon, holding up his arms saying “I am not a crook”, Mr. T chose to be the coward we know he is.

(Alarm sounds and I wake from my beautiful dream)

**no offense to the real Mr. T

The Bottom Line, not mine, theirs

So finally received a note from the happiness engineers:

Key words: free site (so you get what you pay for)

sometimes place ads – (yes, four of them, every post)

Ads determined by location, browsing history (to be clear, I have never looked up foot fungus, swollen legs, stretchy underwear, or life insurance, to name a few)

Paid plans (no ads)

Upgrade your site (you know you want to) uh huh. . .

Monday Movie

Woke up thinking it was Tuesday, I have no idea why. Possibly because yesterday was a long day…? I am recommending “Out of Africa”, 1913, Kenya, and Robert Redford and Meryl Streep were so beautiful in this movie. Based on the book “Out of Africa” is a memoir by the Danish author Karen Blixen. The book, first published in 1937, recounts events of the seventeen years when Blixen made her home in Kenya, then called British East Africa.

I watched it this weekend with my 16 year old grandson. He was reluctant at first but enjoyed it as it went on.
