Why I received this mail I have no idea. The idea of this being a Father’s Day gift ——-worse.
Thank you Cyranny at https://cyranny.com for tagging me for this fun project from Rory at https://aguycalledbloke.blog. I am copying Cyranny’s form from her post because I am having problems with WP recognizing me, again.

Yep, I wager that really cost you, Gus.
Really? I thought it would at least get you up out of that rocker.
Well I guess so, but how many smackeroos was it?
Well, most of my retirement savings, but look at it, it’s gorgeous!
Joe couldn’t help staring at the red car.
It’s a convertible, see? He helped his oldest friend step into the adventure of their lifetime and out of his humdrum life.

Looked at life from here to there
Others’ lives I don’t compare
Happiness while mostly known
There’s always fate being flown
I’ve had a good one and not done yet
No matter how many wrinkles I get
I’m finally reflecting on a life lived well
Now have time to enjoy, I’d say it’s been swell!

Number three stamped on your door, where one and two asked for more
Their request seemed too much a chore, and either one you not adored
Passing by, open your gate, suddenly I feel their fate, wafting through the numbered plate.

White teeth and sparkling blue eyes
Two things that might have caused my demise
Old lengthy blue pontiac he drove by
Wavy black hair caught my eye
The car was worn it was plain to see
But the bench front seat was useful to me
Snuggling close to the driver so bold
The drive-in dates never got old
Freedom of the sixties for both of us
Young and in love made everything just
The future was in the palm of our hand
First date at a dance with a band
“Scotch and soda” played slow and sweet
I could hardly feel my feet
Holding me close with each sway
Thought heaven on earth I found that day
A late dinner with my first glass of wine
My head was swimming, it was divine.

“Hey, we’re going on vacation! It’s going to be great! We’re taking dad’s old camper, the BBB, whatever that means.”
Jack and Joe were beyond excited. They hadn’t been on a camping trip with their dad in ages. It wasn’t his fault really. He was depressed and spent most of his time tinkering around in the garage and smoking those medicinal cigarettes. The garage was off limits, but he promised to spend time with us this summer.
We pulled up to the Big Blue Bus and couldn’t understand the smile on dad’s face. We sadly knew the disappointment on ours.
Anyone know who to contact to replace the flag standard on a soldier’s grave? My uncle died from kidney disease at age 35. The doctor said it was because of staying in cold water filled foxholes. It seems like the standard should be replaced by the VFW? I can only find info on government burials but he is in a private cemetery.
