Daily Prompt:  Tremble

You might have heard of these gatherings

Where loud music and religious ramblings

People gathered in a canvas tent

And listen to a man’s voice saying “repent!”

I have nothing against those who assemble

Who sit in fear and are caused to tremble

Myself, I choose to be more discreet

When I and my faith care to meet.

Daily Picture Prompt-59

We see the bird flying and with it, our hopes for a new world are soaring.  We need peace and love.  We are standing on the edge of it, and instead of the fear of something new, we are ready to step off.  It is up to us, our generation.  We can start this world anew.  We will unite and ignore the failures of the past.  We are young, but strong.  Incomplete and willing to form anew.  We need a change.

The Secret Keeper-#75

This is my power, my will, my talent.  I know I can write and have it published.  I thought the editor would help me sort out the facts from my perceived reality.  So far he’s just agreeing with my assumptions.  I hired him to edit, not empathize.

The story is true but like all stories written in first person it’s my perception.  I am the heroine and a villain. I’ve made mistakes, but the facts are there before him, why can’t he separate them and his feelings?

I never thought this endeavor would end up by him falling in love.  The book was supposed to be a cleansing.  Now it seems I’m back again, in that dreaded place of need.  I never wanted to feel that vulnerability again.  I have decided.  I’ll find a new editor, one that is impartial. I can do it. I will get published and I will succeed.

Writing Prompt #4-Kiss

What is this

A kiss?

An unexpected delight

To come this night.

I’ve heard and even read

It’s something not to dread

But a sign of attraction

Might add the faction

Of beginning romance

A cheek to cheek dance

A cuddle or more, could it be

A fantasy

Where she awakens

And then taken

Her dreams come true

They often do.

All imagined, this

From just one kiss.

Share Your World- February 6, 2017

Good Evening! Busy today, actually cooked myself a regular meal–baked chicken, stuffing, carrots and potatoes…..finally getting my craving for stuffing satisfied. The apartment smells wonderful with my use of sage. So on to this week’s SYW:

1. My fridge is usually organized, no excuse when you live alone for it not to be. Darn!

2. I’m not a freak about keeping food separated like most of my family. I love mashed new potatoes and fresh green peas mixed. One member of my family piles everything in one big heap. That’s not my choice.

3. I read a lot less than I used to, except for your blogs.  I like biographies and also fiction, if fantasy or science is involved.

4. The part of my body that wants attention are my legs. Seemingly numb, they like to come “alive” at night when I’m trying to sleep.

I’m very grateful for my daughter’s wedding anniversary today. As perfect a couple as you can get and still very much in love. I am looking forward to spending some time with my chauffeur, C. A movie might be in the works, I never know.

Monday Motivations

Sunshine is my motivator

Knew it’d be here sooner or later

Of course they’re also saying hail

Your car’s finish won’t prevail

The large hard ice is vindictive

Breaking windshields not restrictive

To small autos I’m afraid

Destructive nature never outplayed

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts

Before suffering the icy blast.

I seemed to have forgotten to mention

And it might be a bone of contention

The prompts that are truly divine

Such as chocolate and valentine.

But as I mentioned before, I truly adore

A granddaughter born on February fourtine.

Picture Prompt-58

The snow crunched under my feet.  Only a few steps to go and I’ll be meeting him.  This cabin is our meeting place, our little sanctuary.  Inside is our world, as it used to be years ago.  Ours alone.  I hope he’s started the fire already, but it really didn’t matter.  There would be warmth there to greet me, in all forms.  A sweet drink, a fluffy coverlet and him.  All of him next to me, all the warmth I’ll ever need to feel complete and whole again.  These meetings are brief but satisfying, at least temporarily.  I have to be content with this, because my real life doesn’t  allow this dream to be anything but a dream, a fantasy.  My real life tries to forget at this moment what reality is.  Reality is he is not mine anymore, but I can keep the dream when I’m here.  For a short time we are together again.  I’m almost to the door.  What will he be wearing this time?  The suit he wore at our wedding, or the Army uniform when I first saw him?  It really doesn’t matter.  What matters is that for a very few hours we can see each other again.  This is my fate for the past ten years, once a year, on the anniversary of his death.

Word Prompt-3-Love

My husband was from the old school, where speaking of love or romance wasn’t done.  Don’t get me wrong, he wasn’t the grab and roughly kiss type like John Wayne, but his family didn’t show affection outwardly, even to their children.  If love was in the conversation, he would always jokingly refer to a quote from his favorite movie, “Elmer Gantry”, starring Burt Lancaster and Jean Simmons. (1960):  “love is the morning and evening star”.  “Elmer Gantry is a satirical novel written by Sinclair Lewis in 1926 that presents aspects of the religious activity of America in fundamentalist and evangelistic circles and the attitudes of the 1920s public toward it”.Wikipedia
