Joe decided to upgrade his daydream wishes. He was tired, mentally and physically from the nightmare of supposed paranormal visitations. “No hill for a stepper”, he could hear his mom’s advice from when a child. This thought prompted him to take the initiative and turn his daytime activities into something great. So what if he saw things move in shadows, heard noises no one else heard, had strange thoughts creep into his mind as he tried to maintain his job requirements! Maybe he was psychic, a seer, fortune teller; he was going to ignore all of it.

And just as he drew a smiley face on the bottom of the first draft of his daily boring report, it happened. The smiley grew into a large evil face, jumping off the paper and he heard a scream. Was that his voice?

Probably my favorite “element” is the element of surprise. However, there is no element of surprise when it comes to our current politicos and their premises. This is a very sad state.

Here in the US we have quite a weird group of people running for office. It’s almost like vote for the devil you know. We have religious zealots, we have misogynistic men, we have gun toting women, we have people trying to tell us how to run our libraries and schools, banning books, and that just names a few. We have X athletes, snake oil salesmen, bible thumpers, insurrectionists, and mostly people who just want to divide our nation, change the basic rules our country was founded on and cause Civil War.

I only wish we did have the element of surprise here but we don’t. Some of these people running for offices have no conscience, promote lies, have no love of their fellow man and present with big egos. Self centered, self promoting riffraff- that last may be a strong word, but really, have you checked the backgrounds of some candidates? Do your research and vote.

This is a funny one for me because naturally most everyone prefers something they don’t have, a better life, more of everything, and of course, my personal favorite, hot fudge sundaes!  Nah, just kidding.  Love is my answer.  Love in all shapes and forms for everyone would be my preference. I think if you put yourself out there, try to smile or engage with strangers–sure there are going to be one or two who look at you like you need a doctor  but then there’s the people who might think for a second and then smile, and leave smiling.  Then I feel great, and maybe they feel better and pass it on.

Especially now, everyone needs a smile or compliment, or engage (okay, now you really think I’m nuts) or be kind in some way. Life today is serious, way too serious, put some fun in your life. And this is going to sound like the baby boomer I am, but spread the love.

Sitting here I can sleep or choose to observe. What machinations occur below me! I can tell by the baring of my branch it will be winter soon, and I will leave this scene for a warmer climate. Until then I must confess it is my joy to see the goblins, witches and ghosts sneak around below me. I especially like to watch the bullies trying to scare the wee ones.

I refuse to apologize, it’s my nature.
