This week’s Story Starter teaser is: SHE THOUGHT SHE HEARD HIS VOICE IN THE HALLWAY OUTSIDE OF HER APARTMENT, SO SHE IMMEDIATELY…rushed into the kitchen and hid all of her freshly baked goodies in the freezer. She heard him sniffing at her door and if she had to let him in he would be eating and lounging around all day. Not today buddy, she thought.

He chuckled quietly at that thought because he knew this would be just like all the schools and all the other towns. They would stay a while, try to get jobs, try to fit in for the thousandth time. It was almost funny if you didn’t live it. He adjusted the heavy backpack, chosen to resemble the other kids’ packs and stepped inside the school entryway. At first it all seemed normal and maybe this time, just maybe, it would be. He looked into the empty hall, class must have already started because it was empty. Then he saw the floor and realized, no, this was not going to be different or new, and walked forward anyway.

His celebrity was at stake. She couldn’t seem to visualize how her signature behavior when caught in these states of embarrassment diminished his value as a commodity in the world of film.

As every new year begins, traditions of new feelings emerge and the world is refreshed while the past recedes.
cold winds blow dark thoughts
