I am a widow since 2013 and live by myself in a small apartment. I use a wheelchair to get around, but I wouldn't consider myself disabled. I'm 11 years away from having bladder cancer resulting in a urostomy and I'm doing well. This cancer was a result of having radiation in 1995 because of uterine cancer. So have faith in yourself, a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. My first try at blogging was an attempt to help other people with my condition. I am a mother of three married children, and a grandmother to eight gorgeous kids, featuring them often here, and a great grandmother to two as of today, 6/7/25! I enjoy exploring my feelings and like to try the challenges. I like humor, music, movies, games, and some sports. I absolutely appreciate your reading and commenting on my blog. I am happy to read all of your blogs and learn more about you. Please comment however you like, ask whatever, and I'll answer honestly. Thanks for reading! Cheryl

  1. Do you find it relatively easy to fall asleep at night? Absolutely not
  2. Do you remember your dreams? Not usually
  3. If you can’t sleep, do you watch TV, read or listen to music in the hope you will nod off? I listen to books
  4. Can you literally sleep anywhere (chair, sofa, bus, train, flight etc)? Oh no
  5. I am grateful to have had a visit from a granddaughter, and she helped me put away all the Christmas stuff in a high closet.☺️

She looked nervously at the hourglass. She had tried to block every craving and finish the diet challenge, but found it an aimless circumstance. Maybe tomorrow she would start again, but it was a sticky wicket. Because once she had determined women generally are not lucky In finding a mate who wouldn’t like to take the scissors to every part of their body to sculpt it in a model-like image, the concept of “love me as I am” was out the window.

Six Sentence Stories

What a word to describe anything! In the South an old woman would cook you up a mess ah chitlins. A frustrated mother yells what a mess as she looks into her kid’s playroom. I consider the political situation here in the USA a complete mess! Then there’s the old unrequited love mess—the triangle. But my favorite is listening to a song named the “mess around”.
