O and P is for A & P

Internet out yesterday again, but I think it’s fixed now since I finally got a real person🤪 to help me. A and P used to be a grocery store, the name shortened from The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company. It was established by George Gilman and George Huntington in 1859 – 2015. ( I wonder if that’s where the phrase “by George” originated😀- nope that was Saint George and George was substituted for God). It was a mail order tea and coffee business before expanding into retail, becoming the largest grocery store in America from 1915 to 1975. Their own brand was “Eight O’Clock” coffee. My “O” part of the prompt is original name…okay, you got me, I’m cheating😉 Happy Saturday!
