Oh, he had been very carefully taught
On what he ought and what he should not
His parents had warned him so many times
It rang in his ears like an hourly chime
It didn’t stop him though, no indeed
He always knew he would succeed
Until that one time he met his match
And spied a woman he wanted to catch
Warnings pushed aside, he invested all
But he was the one who took the fall
He lost his love, his home, even his car
He was too smitten even to spar
The warnings he no longer hears
Just the sadness of his tears.
