Time to Write 5-1-20

“It’s my birthday, it’s my birthday!” she yells as she jumps up and down on her parents’ bed. It is five in the morning and Julie kept her curtains opened all night so she would wake up the instant it was light outside.

Julie’s mom begrudgingly opens her eyes and grabs her phone to check the date. With no work days for a while she needed the phone to know what day it was. “Oh, no, Julie, it’s tomorrow, but don’t worry, it’ll be here before we know it.”

Julie takes a minute to realize what her mom said and then starts jumping on the bed again. “Okay, it can be Charlie’s birthday then”, holding up her favorite teddy bear for her mom to see. Julie’s mom pulls up the covers.
