Morning Walk

Walking in frosty weather, my nose freezes and I loose my breath in puffs of white.

The morning snow ice crunches under my boots as I pull my thick wool scarf tight around my neck.

Tree limbs are topped with white, covering their bare limbs while a single autumn leaf struggles not to be buried with the wind.

My cheeks turn red from the chilled air and my eyes are flashed with sudden reflected sun shards from the frozen landscape.

Disappointingly, the dry ice snow makes no snowmen.
