A lot going on here this weekend. Kids coming home from college. . .yay! A very cool looking tattoo for one of them, looks too painful for me, yikes!
Looking up traditional family recipes for my kids and printing them out, for I doubt they could read some of my old scribbled ones or recipe cards with upside down and cornered notes. Well used, well because I’m ancient of course.
At this time of year pumpkin products abound and the age old question comes up, the can or fresh? The prices of pie pumpkins, those little ones, is bad, but after a necessary jack-o-lantern or two, who can afford them? And then will they be ripe or sour or bitter or spoiled inside? All must be considered to use in recipes. Whereas a can of pumpkin or purée is sufficient. The seeds of the pumpkin are a great treat dried or baked with salt. Which do you choose?
