The nonagerian stared at the bright yellow tarpaulin. It stood out like a sore thumb. The garden was meant to blend into the neighborhood. The very idea of it being close to retirement housing was disliked by its occupants.
If garden paraphernalia didn’t stand out from the natural environment, it was somewhat tolerated, and community gardens were for the disadvantaged. But having them close to her pristine abode made her nervous as to their comings and goings while not working in the garden.
The audacity of the yellow tent was absolutely shocking! She closed the shades with a thump.
