I was almost teary eyed writing this post, seeing photos of where I’ve been, may not return again, days of shuffling kids to the most beautiful places in Colorado. There are too many photos here, but I couldn’t decide….I just want to share the beauty. Durango, home to Mesa Verde state park, to the mining town of Silverton, Colorado on a narrow gauge train is a delightful experience for the whole family. Beautiful scenery, the nostalgia of sounds and signs of an ancient railroad make the smoke in your eyes all worth it.
Children’s excitement
Peering over mountain’s edge
Smoke ash in your eyes

That ride on the train from Durango to Silverton is wonderful! I would like to
return sometime in the fall.
