“This isn’t a bad life, Mary. Think of all the places we will see!” Jim was trying to appease Mary since this was going to be the start of his retirement, due to sudden redundancy. Mary was mourning the loss of their cottage in town.
Jim tried to tell her of the wonderful adventure they would have. He emphasized they weren’t that old and it could be romantic bliss.
Mary thought her husband had lost his mind along with his job. “Bliss? Cooking on a camp stove, peeing in the woods, bathing in the stream? You call that bliss?”
