This 2000 movie garnered five Academy awards including best picture and best actor. Russell Crowe is in my top five favorite actors and was outstanding in this movie. I read they are bringing it back to the big screen, cool! It’s well worth renting if you haven’t seen it.

I agree that this was an excellent film. It’s depiction of political intrigue and manipulation, brutality of life and sense of loyalty are outstanding. Notwithstanding the use of CGI. and other effects, all of the actors played their parts well. We can only hope that they do not consider a watered-down remake as they have with so many other classics.

The scene where the tiger nearly takes a bite out of Maximus was a mistake and luckily no one was hurt badly.
