Three Line Tales – 66 – Apocalypse

It was covering every inch of the sky, red clouds? she queried. A sunset gone awry, yes that was it, a huge sunset like she’d never seen before.

Amazing the tower was still standing after such a blast. No tall trees were left, just scrubbrush. She was alone, but surrounded by it, an increasing deafening roar. She wondered how long she could stand it.

Skin on her arms started to prickle. They were reddening and burning. She felt her face start to burn, as the skin she touched fell. “At least this won’t take long,” thinking, “I can’t even cry.”
