Response to the Daily Post: Candle

The most significant candle in my life was in a paper bag with my husband’s name on it. He died July 17, 2013 of esophagus cancer.
My granddaughter decided to hold a Cancer Relay that year to raise money and bring more awareness to cancer in general. It consists of walking/rolling around a track which is lined with illuminated bags made by the family survivors. It involves dinner, games, prizes, and every hour of the day and night a different contest was held. My niece dressed as a Blues Brother for the 80s run around the track. At sundown the candled bags were lit and everyone silently traced the track again.

    1. Thank YOU! Why do you suppose we’re so spare in acknowledging greatness in the seemingly mundane? To me, it is these acts that are deemed small and taken for granted that provide the greatest service to my personal well-being, not the award-winning ones. The Universe knows no magnitude…why do we?

Thank you for your kind note. I’m very happy and grateful that my expression of appreciation was also appreciated! 😉 xoM

    1. Haha. Yeah, but I’m okay with it. I knew I likely would when writing it because my thoughts aren’t streamlining with the current PC culture.

Nothing will make me stop writing though.

On the flip side, Ive gained 50 or so subscribers since I write that first piece so maybe my message is resonating with some people and getting them to think about it from a different perspective.

      Thanks for your support. 😊
