Some say it’s magic, a special veil lifted between midnight, October 30th till midnight, October 31–a holiday of sorts with childhood memories of special treats given by friendly neighbors.
In some cultures this week is a time when ancestors rise from their crypts to utilize the camouflage of costumes in the street to visit friends and relatives imparting personal messages which may or may not be well received.
In either case, it would be wise to shutter the windows, batten the hatches, lock the doors, especially to attics and basements, light a peaceful candle or two and keep the fire logs burning. This is the year of odd happenings and you never know what horror is coming next.
