Sunday Photo Fiction – Plans

Looking innocent enough, the pair of terrorists wrote notes about the photos they took of the capitol building. Thinking they were merely tourists, the guards were unobtrusive as they snapped pictures of security cameras, exit doors and stairways. It would take them a few days to supply this information to the leader of their group.

MLMM – Lots of Prompts Love Story

***

“Oh my God, look at that! I thought you removed those salmon bones in my favorite fried cakes. Now look, I need to find a dentist that’s open on Sunday!”

“Oh, George, relax, I have a friend who is a dentist. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind helping you out. And George, she’s single.”

“Single? Is that all you ever think about, mom? I may never meet someone I think cool enough to spend my life with!”

“It doesn’t hurt to look, and George, she’s a dentist!” George’s mother was always on the lookout for a potential bride, her son was almost thirty!

“I suppose you think everyone should marry a doctor, right mom?”

“Yes, or lawyer, or better yet, a banker! Anyway, your dream of going to South America to save the rainforest is not practical, who needs more trees?”

“We do mom, the whole world is suffocating under a layer of toxic carbon. Trees absorb it and help to save the environment.”

“So, maybe you should marry a scientist?”

“Can you call to see if she can fix my tooth? I have a presentation tomorrow and need this front tooth replaced or I’ll look like a dork. No one will be thinking about the environment, just my mouth!”

George saw the dentist, his tooth was fixed and the two found they had similar interests. She attended his presentation, made a large donation to save the trees and they lived happily ever after in South America. She held clinics for local people and he saved trees. Sometimes mother knows best.

Word of the Day: Giggle

It starts with a read in a library book

A smile slowly spreads across as you look

Suppressing an obvious outburst

In the rules you are well versed

It finally erupts, a short giggle

Not too loud while being held in

Librarian looks are withering

You read it again, causing a squiggle

In your wooden chair

She’s eyeing you there

All at once can’t hold it in

Even to the lady’s chagrin

Out it comes, a huge loud giggle

There you sit in embarrassed wriggle.

This happened to me. I started laughing, couldn’t stop and had to leave. It was a small library and I was at a kid’s section with my granddaughter. Her older sister handed me a book which was supposed to be a child’s introduction to sex. It was hilarious and the words and illustrations. . .you can imagine. That’s why I’m not allowed to go with them to the library anymore😂😍👀🤓JK

Song Lyric Sunday

Who doesn’t love Jimmy Dean?

Hey, kid, rock and roll
Rock on, ooh my soul
Hey, kids, you boogey, too, did ya?
Hey shout, summertime blues
Jump up and down in my blue suede shoes
Hey, did you rock and roll, rock on
And where do we go from here?
Which is a way that’s clear
Still looking for that blue jean, baby queen
Prettiest girl I ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean
(James Dean)
And where do we go from here?
Which is a way that’s clear
Still looking for that blue jean, baby queen
Prettiest girl I ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean
(Jimmy Dean)
Rock on
Rock on
Rock on (hey, kid, rock and roll)
Rock on
Rock on (hey, kid, rock and roll)
Rock on
Rock on (hey, kid, rock and roll)
Rock on
Rock on (hey, kid, rock and roll)
Rock on
Rock on (hey, kid, rock and roll)
Rock on
Rock on (hey, kid, rock and roll)
Rock on
Rock on (hey, kid, rock and roll)
Rock on

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

It has been said that music can soothe your soul and I certainly believe that is true. Songs of beauty, truth, sadness, happiness, love, sorrow, all can either help you get through a situation or even make you feel worse. A song with words that seep into your mind, causing a reaction of happiness or joy, reflection of a fond memory, is worth listening to, because it stirs you, makes you think.

Instrumentals rarely affect me the same way. Of course there are some favorite classical pieces that cause poignancy, but I prefer a melody with lyrics, and listening to a story.

Word of the Day: Glimpse

In olden days, even the Tudor

Ladyships showed a bit, even more

Cleavage, an unflattering term

Thinking of cleavers makes me squirm!

There’s nothing wrong in showing off

The breast, the bust to attract a toff

Present times you might drop your jaw

Clothing, I mean showing a bra

Straps galore show a glimpse

Causing men to come to grips

With parts of their masculinity

This flirtation spans eternity

Not really judging, it’s personal choices

Dressing in public is one of your voices.

Trying to find bra to fit the words, found some extremely weird bras!🤪

Word of the Day: Delicate

“Those were the days” she said, reminiscing about the farm, her husband, their lives together. “A lot of years of hard work, but we were so happy. Busy all the time, but we managed a few minutes every day just for us.”

Jo’s grandma talking more to herself than Jo, kept her hands in constant motion as she crocheted another doilie. It was good for her, to exercise her fingers, keep them capable. Jo’s grandma was a small wiry woman in her eighties, but still as brilliant as ever. Her story telling was interesting to her family and they hoped to keep them in memory to tell their own grandchildren.

“Your grandfather loved these little doilies; you wouldn’t think he would care for such impractical delicate things, but he admired the patterns. That’s why I make them still, it makes me think of his sweet admiration of my craft.
