SoCS 10-19-19

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “oh.” Use it as a word or find a word that starts with “oh.” Bonus points if you start and end with “oh.” Enjoy!

Oh-oh, here she writes again! I’m sure you’re thinking it, but there is a handy delete button, right down there⬇️. Going to be in the fifties today, so not bad, soccer season coming to a close.

My first thought for oh was an old tv show memory of “The Cisco Kid”, one of my absolute favorites as a child:

Daily Addictions: Family

“Take my family”, starts a comedian’s one-liner but the measure of a family is seen in their behavior. The top of the ruler includes love, patience, loyalty, trust, acceptance and more. If you have these, family becomes the most important gift you can receive.

This my oldest son and his family that live 1800 miles east of me.❤️🥰

Word of the Day: Jittery

Little Joey could not sit still

It was simply not in his mind’s will

Afflicted with a body jittery

No quietness in his sittery.

Teachers didn’t like this dance

Never thought or give a loving glance

Joey ended up in detention

He had caused too much attention.

You see it every day in schools

Teachers never stretching the rules

Some leniency should be required

Or maybe they could just be fired.

Medical reasons’ childhood behavior

When often they just need a savior.

Three Line Tales – First Love

Sneaking her into this place wasn’t easy. Most of the time an unsavory few held vigil here. It was the place where you could do, be, or experience anything at all. Most of the activities were forbidden by parents, making this a sanctuary of sorts for curious kids.

Joe had waited for daylight when the others were asleep at home. This afternoon he planned it well. No one was about so he spread the blanket on the leaves. She enjoyed the enticement and seduction of the blindfold and was aflutter with anticipation.

Finally, one hour of expectant bliss was theirs.

MLMM Music Challenge – “Walk like an Egyptian”

***

Walk like an Egyptian, sure it’s fun

But I wouldn’t want to live as one

I’m sure I’d be the one toting bricks

While pharaohs above watched for kicks

Planning the tomb where they might rest

Preferring to have the “mummy’s best”

Nope, not for me, my sandy friend

I’ll choose another end.

I found this Horrible Histories video about mummies. I think enjoy might be a bit too much😄

Rory’s Daily Four🍀

Chilly, very windy day here in Wyoming, typical winter for us. So for my answer to Rory’s first question, I say coffee! My favorite treat for coffee is:

I received an oil diffuser as a gift and to be honest, most oils are too strong, but I love the orange scented essential oil and at this time of year it provides added humidity, which we need in this dry climate.

Spice Cake with caramel frosting is my favorite. I’m seeing a caramel theme here. . .😋

This is the closest I get to Wellies. We have snow, not much rain and I’m rarely out in either. But I need to keep my feet and legs warm since they have little circulation on their own. I used to splash in puddles with glee when I walked 😀.
