Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

Have you thought what might happen today

If Draconian laws were still in play

Here in what used to be the”good old USA”

Years ago when people were held at bay

Demonstrations and behaviors, opinions they say

Your childish words sound similar to a donkey’s bray

Heard over and over, repeated each day

Unbelievably cruel as you continue to neigh

Happenings occurring are no longer gray

And still they are on your side, calling nay

Is it time for all the hate you sprayed

To come home to roost at your home’s bay

We can only hope as they testify to eventually sway.

Do you hoard, clutter, or constantly declutter?

I am not a hoarder but have been accused of it with my collection of birds. I have birds on living room curtains, a clock in the kitchen that announces the hour with a different bird call and some small funny seasonal birds I display.

Do you enjoy cooking, if so, what is your special dish and if not, what is a dish you wish you could create?

I have a few family favorites that I’m asked for, but now I rarely cook, it’s too difficult when sitting. Yesterday my daughter asked me to make muffins for her and I said, no way, I don’t like making muffins. I never did because it’s difficult to get all the batter in a cup without having to clean around the edge of the pan, my oven burns them on the bottom, etc etc. They are the easiest things to make, my hardest to bake. A dish I would like to create would be a perfect consistency of fudge. The fast ways are too soft and the long way needs perfect weather to set.

What are we likely to find in your condiment cupboard?

Nothing surprising, I imagine. The usual: mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, relish, vinegar, olive oil, Worcester sauce, soy sauce, maple syrup. Spices I have lots: basics for baking, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc; for cooking, Mrs. Dash, sage, poultry seasoning, basil, oregano, cumin, curry powder, garlic powder, etc.

MLMM Tale Weaver #249

Going on holiday is an oxymoron

Emphasis on the last part

Making plans for what to ride on

Train, plane, automobile, or cart

Sinking feelings start as you plan

Might we choose a caravan

Or we could try a scenic cruise

No sleeping bags or tents to use

Hotels, room service with a smile

While dollars from your wallet fly

A cabin in the woods retreat

Fire burning warmth is neat

Or mountain climbing might suffice

Hiking, ropes with clamps advised

All these plans in the making

I think too much time it’s taking

A new thought suddenly appears

I like our home, let’s just stay here.
