Thanksgiving Greetings here in US

The video scenes below are likely in Wyoming, but here in Cheyenne it’s just cold but sunny and 21 F. I don’t want to jinx it by saying it’s not windy but snow piled everywhere. My trusty grandson will be here to pick me up at noon and I’m looking forward to turkey and stuffing and other goodies prepared by my daughter and family. Laughter, hugs, stories, games and pie, you can’t beat it! Have a great day everyone!

MLMM Tale Weaver – Jobs
One of the best jobs I had was working in a sundries shop on the first floor of an office building. It was only a half mile from my home so I could even walk to work. The owner, C was a California native and her husband was an ex Denver Bronco football player.
We got along well and I think the entire experience boosted my self esteem. The hours were convenient, early at 7 and off by 3.30 so I could be home with my three teenagers. She was also flexible if I needed to leave for some reason.
I waited on the customers, prepared food, cooked, cleaned, and served our office building friends. We all got to know each other well. It was fun!
I do think the constant standing contributed to my back problems, but I was in better shape than ever. C was a tall beautiful woman and we took aerobics classes together–she was great inspirationπ.
The job ended as she and her husband moved back to California. She wanted me to buy the shop from them but I knew I would soon be joining my husband in Texas, as soon as our youngest left for college. I often wonder what would have happened if I had bought the business and where we would all be now.

MLMM Wordle #159 – Say No to Drugs

The impish ne’er do wells took another turn at the French cigarette which mysterious vapors seemed to entice them to dastardly deeds. There had been the flair of setting fire to wooden beam supports, causing a cave-in at the nearby mine.
Next, the kick they received from fixing an elastic tether to the local school bus caisson. Most of the students remained unharmed, some even enjoyed the event. There was only one horrid scream heard as the bus driver received a withered arm after trying to remove the rubber banded tether from the bus.
The culprits were sequestered by the police.

FFftPP #48 – Sell Me

“It’s a bargain I tell you, right up there on the top! See? No one above you, no one trampling your yard, in fact you’ll be king of the mountain!” The realtor laughed a little too enthusiastically as I spied the building from the street.
I never thought of this as I read “Mountain Views” in the real estate sales brochure. It seemed pretty enough, but the only way to get to the home itself was a ride on a mountain goat. I should have realized that as soon as I arrived in town. It was overrun by corralled mountain goats!

Brew and Spew – Ceremony

She softly sat opposite me on a mat of rattan
Silken robes carefully, discreetly tucked
Ceremonial turning of the waiting vessel
Steam from the pot circling her face
As she leaned in to pour
No words spoken as I sipped the tea.

Sitting in the park in Mobile, Alabama
Saw a brother walking, quoting Dali Lama
Wise words I commented, that you made
Come sit down here, take respite in the shade
As he came to join me, I saw his robe was badly tattered
But the quiet words he said to me were only what mattered
He spoke words of comfort seeing I was in some pain
The seat I might have offered, but it was I who gained.
