Feeling listless as I see the spread of Christmas fare strewn in the living room
Waiting to feel the boundless energy to lift weightless imagined burdens that keep me from opening the first box
Delving into my memories and the senseless repetition of unachievable forgetting
Wishing to become fearless, face the future, moving in a new direction or
Wallowing in needless frustration with what is gone and start anew
Living is never flawless, so I open the box, sort the good thoughts and find a temporary future.

This is from Twitter and so sad, as we here in the US are protected by vaccines. There are ongoing debates about whether or not to vaccinate your babies and children. What do you think? These numbers are phenomenal.

Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi:

Remain vigilant
Never say we cannot change
Earth is ours to hold

Your hat and coat laying there
Familiar case packed on the stair
We tried and failed, I feel bereaved
Only a still-life after you leave
Emptiness overpowers me
With a future I don’t care to see
Please come back, fold your arms around
Feel again the happiness surround.

Sat upon the sand

The shortened road ahead, I see it clearly only for a limited time. What is around that corner could be intimidating, even frightening. My head aches with unwanted visions of an uncertain future. Remaining positive is difficult even though the light dappling from above seems promising. I rely on it, follow it through dark times.

Merry happy whatever I reminded myself
As my king sized bedding I retrieved from the shelf
A chore I despise if I’m being honest
Lifting and spreading out of the closet
Crawling over to the corner is no race
To fit the corners in their special place
I think I need to hire a maid
Present to myself? Nuff said!

And if that’s not enough to stop you reading, number two:
***
The gift of the magi
A sweet thought it’s true
From lover to lover
Not borrowed or blue
A smile, hug, an offered kiss
Are gifts I cannot resist.

I now have zero faith in this idea
Fortune telling as a career
Wanted a gift on Christmas Eve
The tented lady was out to deceive
Your love will like this, promised me
And held out a ring for me to see
The ring was odd, a large ruby stone
Thought maybe my love would like to own
A gem like this, a special dark red
It was cloudy with sparkles spread
Paid the woman with no slight
Said, I hope your prediction’s right
Wrapped the ring with special string
Hoped she thought I was her king
Right away she was enamored
Put it on and then it lost its glamour
A curse upon it did a trick
Heard a scream, watched the ring inflict
Transformation from human to witch
The fortune teller caused a glitch
My love was my beauty no more
Went back to the tent for a gory chore
Tore it down with the woman inside
Along with her tent, the teller died.
Some think my love has the teller’s form
I admit she’s far from the norm
But still my love and I’ll never leave
Beauty was all the teller reaved.
