Happy New Year my butt!

In 2020, I will let go of ten pounds, or more. Constantly sitting in a chair every ounce goes straight to your middle! It’s not a resolution, just a hope to be accomplished😂. I’m not a big promise maker with New Years resolutions, I don’t like the pressure. There’s enough pressure on us just living day to day. Keeping healthy is my goal.
Funny thing I heard today about the latest Gallup poll involving the most honored man of 2019, any guesses? It was a tie between Obama and Trump! Now that’s a divided country. Maybe their resolutions should be getting us all on the same page.

They say time is fleeting and the older you get the more quickly time passes. Tell that to a mother or dad of three, all under the age of four and you will probably get an argument.
The busyness of a young mother/dad is incomparable. The watching, the playing, the washing, the drying, the diaper changes, bathing, bottles to sanitize, food preparation, and maybe if a miracle happens, they will all take a nap at the same time, preferably lasting at least an hour.
This is the golden time when they can put their feet up? Have you ever seen that? That hour will be spent preparing the next meal, snacks, taking a shower, folding laundry, writing a grocery list, making beds, filling or emptying the dishwasher, dusting, mopping. . .anything else you can’t do while the three are “up”.
When you think you have a busy day and time is passing fast, think of these parents. If you’ve been there as I have and survived? More power to you!👍🏻🤓. And for the record, I wish I could do it all again.

She wandered through their home, looking, always searching. She knew it was there, at least it was there, wasn’t it? The painting was as clear in her mind as the day the artist completed it. Her husband, herself and their infant son.
It was the same every day, as she helplessly searched for some remainder of her son. A crib, a blanket, toy, even a milk bottle hidden in the back of a kitchen cupboard. There must be something she thought. And then she remembered the painting, definite proof he existed.
She had become isolated from her family and friends. It was her husband’s idea and he enforced it, providing no contact with the outside world. Did he intentionally keep her away or was he trying to dissuade the sudden grief they both suffered at their son’s loss? Did he see she was deteriorating quickly and was that his plan?
Meanwhile, she kept searching for a sign her son existed at all.

Out from the cocoon
Life is a brief encounter
Flame turns in ashes

Silver curls emerge from the sides
Laughing crinkles spread by your eyes
Smiles apparent on thinner lips
Shallower cheeks brightened with rosehips
All show the patina of aging.

You will recognize a few actors here and 20 years later some have come a long way, some we’ve lost. Hope you enjoy “The Replacements”.
