Monday Movie

It’s baseball time and even if you can’t watch a game, there are some very good movies about it. “Bull Durham” is one I watched this weekend. One of the best scenes is the coach giving a “pep talk”, explaining the basics: “Baseball is a simple game. You throw the ball–you hit the ball–you catch the ball. Got it?” 😄

Dilemma

Pens and pencils I have many

Inspiration, have not any

Warm without, cold within

Comforter pulled to my chin

Tablet sits wanting vision

Not to write is my decision

Fires not lighting, burner down

While reading poems well renown

I wonder if their handy muse

Also had times unused

Rising for the coffee urge

Hope inaction it will purge.

Throwing Caution

Not caring and thinking she had nothing to lose, she left the lock on the door opened, and made a call to her lover. She spoke with such fervor, the cel was singed. She decided her wanton needs outweighed her fear of death, opted to sell the mask that protected her from the spreading stroke of a virus and fly to the man she craved.

FOWC: Candid

One of the worst questions you never want to hear: may I be candid? Hell no! 😄I can look in the mirror anytime if I want to see the real me, so the answer is no thank you! It’s as bad as asking if I like your new hair dye. If I did, I would have said so. Never ask the old, do I look fat in this, or, did you notice my hair is turning grey or what did you think of my new book, or did you like my new recipe? Face it, you can tell by their look or actions, you don’t need to have it spelled out. Well of course unless you’re Trump. . .I don’t think even that would help.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt 4-25-20

Soft and silky was the way, she thought. A satiny sky blue, possibly with lavender thread? Anything to brighten her face and take advantage of her beautiful blue eyes that attracted him. It was their third meeting and the adage, third time is the charm ran through her mind. A sly smile brushed across her lips as she gathered the fabric. The pattern was well worn but being an excellent seamstress, she was very familiar with the cuts.

Spreading the cloth on the table, she couldn’t help herself from smoothing it with a loving touch. She blushed as she envisioned how his hands would feel as he also relished the feel of it. Every bit of planning was complete except for the final sewing. It would be an evening to remember.
