Okay, cat lovers, read no further! My first thoughts for this Prompt were CATS! They splay their behind in a rude manner, they all should be spayed and the males love to spray their scent everywhere.

In my defense, I’ve had and loved cats, grew up on a dairy farm with many of them that were left on our property, and then with my kids. First a mother cat, and then two adorable kitties, all three from the Dumb Friends League. At times I miss them, but now am allergic. I think dogs are truly man’s best friends.

Volunteering

It takes a lot to risk when you are my age. I took a risk in 2015 when I decided to volunteer at the VA hospital. The government vets you, and have your fingerprints, background check, etc. all done and approved before you can be in the hospital. I was on the scooter so I could zip around the outside sidewalks from where the curb to curb bus left me off and navigated the many halls to find the volunteer desk. It was intimidating at first, not knowing my way around. Eventually I knew where most sections were and could guide someone there.

The reward was not only conversing with the military there, or a family member, but meeting other volunteers. In doing so I realized how lucky I was being able to function even needing the wheelchair or scooter to get around. Their sacrifices are real, their needs are many.

Carrot Ranch Flash Fiction – Revenge

Even the bright white moon could not dispel the ominous vision of the empty rowboat. All would be revealed in the light of dawn, but for now, he looked upon the vessel as a final ending.

No more would she mockingly betray him. No more would she laugh and flirt, shamefully cavorting with all the handsome young men. No more would he cry himself to sleep in silence waiting for her to return.

He turned and walked back to their isolated cabin. The planned vacation was a success in some ways. His world would now be free of her.

Share Your World- May 29, 2017

Time for ceenphotography.com SYW questions. Thanks again C for letting us know more about each other through your challenge. Not really a challenge, more like probing questions meant to let us into your world. I’m interested, how many of you took a moment of silence today at 3:00pmET in the US?🇺🇸🤗

Question one- my favorite monument is in Washington, DC, where I observed the statue of seated President Abraham Lincoln. I was certainly impressed at how large it was. As a child I had dreamed of seeing it in person. Only took me forty years.🎆

Question two – I like short vacations such as getting away for the weekend. However, my favorite vacation was a long one, two weeks in Hawaii.🌋 I haven’t been on a vacation for many years. Too many!🕶

Question three – one of my favorite National Parks is Mesa Verde in Colorado. Truly an amazing sight.

Question four – Oh, this is fun! My fantasy vacation would be in a secluded cabin, wheelchair access of course, to and from the surrounding woods and lake. Now that would be ideal.🏔🔥🥐🍷☕️🛶🏞👍🏻

I am grateful that the closeby tornado a few days ago, did not cause harm to my grandson, home alone with the dog! I am looking forward to this week being the last week of school. 🎉🎊🎈☀️🌝🌟⭐️

Time to Write – Violence

The theme lately here in the US is violence. Hatred and violence for your neighbor, your government, and probably your life with the frustration of how it has changed. What other explanation could there be for everyone acting with murder and outrage towards each other?

Violence with guns, more guns and deaths than any other place in the world. Coming to you from Wyoming where guns are plentiful and a person’s right to open carry without a license, what can we expect? What about the rights of peaceful, tolerant citizens? It is fearful to walk, shop, or play outside. People of color aren’t even safe in their own homes.

It is woeful, sad and maddening.
