My strategy for today is to ignore the weather, and news all day long. I’m just having coffee at 9 so that’s a good start. I’ve learned to read the “My Dang Blog”post before holding a cup of coffee. Read here and you’ll see what I mean:

Considering it took two months for my birthday card mailed in September to get to me in November, there’s going to be a lot of it going around.
The color of your skin, eyes, your hair, your body type, your ableness, your language, speech. These are all outside your true identity. This is what most people think of you, their first impression, their judgment of you. How sad is that?

Part of the Geography curriculum is getting a box of local snacks to try. This one from Italy.
You know those boys
The ones who smoke cigarettes on the corner
Dressed in tight jeans, muscles bared with sleeves rolled up T-shirts
You know those heartthrob wannabes, acting all cool
Like James Dean with that greasy duck-tailed do
They eye you as you pass by, give you a “I know what you want” smirk
And of course you blush, because you want it too,
Dressed in your furry pink sweater and poodle skirt,
With saddle shoes and bobby socks rolled down as soon as you left the house
You know them well.

Gigi assembled her planners, her calendars, her pens, pouches, and post-its before her on the desk and stood over them like a general surveying maps. It hadn’t been easy, the transition from office building to working at home. No matter how she liked being able to relax in comfy clothing and make her own schedule, she missed the interaction.
Part of her job was helping new employees adjust to their surroundings, and now she had to accomplish that task for herself. Bright posters, green plants, and a small fridge added to the atmosphere she wanted to get used to.
She turned on the two computer screens, saw everything worked correctly, and began her day.

You couldn’t blame her, she’d been dieting for weeks
It was only fair, she thought, to let them peek
Standing in front of a mirror and twirling
Didn’t notice the yarn fabric unfurling
The too snug sweater was too tight still
And now seen unraveling at will
Her mind on a high, spinning with gloat

First thing, it’s lucky Cheyenne is still on the map since we have had 100mph winds and the past few days and nights I thought my door was going to be blown in. My heat is kept low, drapes shut, but the wind gets in anyway and the heating bill climbs.
Even in this wind I did get out to have an eye check, excellent, btw. And a haircut, woohoo! How’s that for excitement?
