From the hard gray existence
Through difficult echoes of life
Surrounded by hard truths
Is the pathway of life
The opening is visible to those who choose to see it
The reward is being able to pass through
To a smooth, more pleasant uncontentious peace
Wisdom
Invisible to the younger eye
Who may not see the variable,
Choose the strain of defeat as hapless.
An older person can see beyond the foibles,
A life long pattern that indicates life
The ebb and flow of success and failure
And take it as learned experience.
