The table was set, the mice were there

It was going to be a ceremonial affair

The lady Marie was dressed in mink

The groom outfitted with a tie of pink

There were flowers and garlands

Mice came from all lands

To see the special wedding occur

When two unruly guests caused a stir

Hickory and Dickory were names of the culprits

Both of them being rather dull wits

Decided to run up and down the grandfather clock

Causing a disturbance, trying to block

The wedding ceremony, because you see

Dickory was in love with Marie.

Have you ever tried to prove that you are you? I remember seeing a funny movie about it once but in reality it is not funny.

Somehow I lost my state ID and my SS and Medicare cards…I’ve searched every pocket, nook and cranny and can’t find them. I always have the cards together and include them with my debit card and a credit card in a rubber band.

I don’t carry a purse because I have a backpack on the wheelchair that holds all my necessities in case I need to change clothes etc. The backpack has a zippered pocket where the card pile is kept.

Usually if it’s a quick trip in a store I leave the backpack in the car and put the banded card pile in my pocket. If I don’t have a pocket I ask whoever family member is with me to put it in their pocket. I rarely go anywhere – for at least a year.

Now I am flummoxed as to where those certain cards can be since it would only be a doc’s office I would need them. I’ve called everywhere I’ve been and all the family, no luck.

I paid $40 to get a new SS card online and have to fill out some forms. Same for WY DoT to get a new ID since I don’t drive I have to have a state ID instead of a driver’s license.

Still here? This is my life now so I’ll let this post if you’re still reading…be a warning to glue your important cards to your body somewhere, preferably an easy to reach area🤪

In order to obtain new cards you need your old cards—what? Or a birth certificate, and marriage license, or passport, parents’ similar items, plus rent and utility bill, doctor visit receipt, etc, the list is long and that’s only if you are already born in the US!

Of course this requires my daughter or one of my grandkids to drive me to these places and wait—the DMV is the worst, and my passport which I used 44 years ago, I doubt I could find it now. This includes another warning: if you move a lot, put all these necessary ID items in a plastic zippered bag and tape it to your body while in the process of moving. You’ll thank me later. And if right now you don’t know where all these items are, then start looking. You never know when you’ll have to prove you are who you are.

The only picture IDs I have for proof are the VA hospital ID necklace you wear as a volunteer and the WY DoT for riding the curb to curb bus. Btw, the post I wrote about that bus debacle has been taken down. It is the second rant that has been confiscated by WP😳🙄. I thought this was MY blog?

Bully thought he’d try a little remote seduction on the bovine bevy of beauties, and made what he thought might be suggestive guttural noises to make their cheeks red. Bully always enjoyed hiding behind the shallow trough, floating an occasional corn stalk to see their reaction. He of course hoped the offering would make them dizzy with desire, causing their huge supple lips to biting. Just the thought made Bully tremble, but of course he was best at being an observer, as he was failing to define his dreams into real action. After all, he was only a young barnyard bull with a dream.

You heard me, the US may be falling apart, worldwide disasters abide, and even ancient ice has decided it’s had enough of hanging around its neighborhood . He loved lemonade, but only the sweetest thin skinned heavy lemons would do. Frank was so particular that he never indulged in restaurant fare, only his own coveted recipe was acceptable. That is, until he was sitting in the park one hot summer afternoon and a vision of loveliness so incredibly beautiful caused Frank’s mouth to fall open and looking ridiculous, while staring at Miss Amanda James.

You can’t blame Frank, for Miss Amanda was indeed shockingly gorgeous, with pale skin, rose hued cheeks, vibrant blue eyes and black wavy hair. She complemented her beauty with dresses made from the finest imported silk and hand made lace accoutrements, including tight fitting gloves. No lady would be seen in public, especially walking in a park, with bare hands.

Frank finally shut his mouth and every fiber of his being was awake with sensual desire for Miss James. Of course she could not help noticing how Frank was practically drooling as he gazed at her, but she just kept on walking by him. Suddenly one of her gloves drifted down and landed on the path. Frank saw this and leapt at the opportunity to scoop it up and weakly said, “Miss? Miss, I think you dropped this.”

Amanda stopped and turned , saying, “Well, my my, I am so happy you found it! I don’t know what I was thinking, how clumsy of me.” Even Frank sobered up enough to realize this was a ruse, but he planned on taking full advantage of it.

“It might be the heat. Please let me introduce myself. I am Franklin Smith”, extending his hand toward her.

“Miss Amanda James, sir. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Frank thought for a minute and then asked Miss James if she would like to join him for some lemonade. He had a full thermos of the ice cold drink and invited her to sit by him on the park bench.

“Oh, I would just kill for something cold to drink, thank you!” From the moment she tasted Frank’s special lemonade, her mind was already convinced. This man was going to bring her the joy she needed in her life.

Well Charlie, I guess this tops the looking for a mermaid idea. That was the worst vacation we ever took! All that sand, getting into everything and I mean every thing.

I think you’ve finally lost that venerable reputation I always admired. Constantly looking for the latest new invention was interesting for a while, but this takes the cake!

First of all, once you flip the switch it starts vibrating, not at all stable. It’s going to sputter itself right off the windowsill! You should have taken the time to fill out that senior’s choice application to get a discount on a real air conditioner.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t a Russian snooping device with hidden cameras and mini microphones–yep. Look at those vents to record our voices and those black lenses! I’ll bet that’s why it was so cheap, and did you see the label? Yup, made in China.

Irma sits back in her rocker, staring at the device, while Charlie just smiles, enjoying the coolness.
