Considering my job is to throw the worst that could happen at the characters in my books, is it any wonder I worry about my kids all the time? Which leads to the question, where is the line between parenting and fiction drawn, since life is stranger?

This week’s Story Starter teaser is: It was in the spring of 2010 when I first realized I could actually wear a size one, a mere remnant of my previous size! Every neuron in my body was doing a dance of success! I guess I can’t take all the credit, it was the incantation a witch doctor told me to repeat every hour; a screed of letting go of all appetites that were doing me harm.

I must admit it was worth the million dollars I gave him. I had all the exercise equipment in my home gym, all access to special diets and even a private chef. It was only in complete desperation I dared go to this “doctor”. I saw my weight and appearance change daily after each meditation.

It was only looking in the mirror this morning that I noticed how much I had changed, and the size one clothes I purchased a month ago are now way too loose.

Peter was always considered a slippery individual by other men who secretly envied him. He was almost toujours perdix, and most women didn’t bother to see beyond the facade. Without this shadowy element, he appeared charming, and together with his suave good looks, he was always successful.

Every winter season he would take advantage of the ski bunnies who were more than anxious to be seen with him. And the truth to be told, he was a pleasant treasure, within his capabilities. Peter would make his first impression by skimming effortlessly over crisp white snow slopes and then go “in for the kill” when party nights began at the lodge.

There was always an older widow with means about, and Peter would beguile till her early bedtime and then his compensation funded younger company for the rest of the night.

This is a cautionary tale. Of course, as usual, I am to blame in part. I received some long awaited good news this morning and was in an hypnotic state of euphoria.

I had to tell my sisters of the good news right away so it was going to be a long message. And because I’m basically an impatient person I decided to use the microphone on my phone to tell the news in a quicker email.

I had the phone close to my face so didn’t see what was writing. Finished, looked into it and saw nothing had typed, just the greeting. So scorched the airwaves by saying “f—-“ and of course it printed that.

So how’s your day going?😂🙄😳😵‍💫
