Simply Six Minutes

***

I often watch from here. It’s harmless really, I don’t approach, I only watch. I realize it’s not healthy, my mind and body should be elsewhere, doing something, anything…anything to ease my pain, heal my heart. I don’t expect you to understand, I only want a few glimpses of what I could have had, would have had, if only I had given in. There’s nothing wrong with giving in sometimes—I know that now—now that it is too late and I can only observe from a distance what I am missing.

dVerse Poets Quadrille – Muse

***

I wanted to be Calliope,

but my brain settled on Thalia;

even she was reluctant

She finally succumbed to my pleas,

letting me practice a bit on a blog.

A blog you query? Surely the muses are too proud to indulge in such endeavors.

Not Again

Jesse had been at it again. With a long sigh of disappointment, Frank called his friend at the station. “I was expecting your call, yeah, it’s Jesse. I’ll hold him till you come.” Frank pocketed his cel and went to the garage. As he opened the auto door, the light showed his precious Maserati was missing, again. Holding back his feelings, now turning to anger, Frank yanked open the door of his pickup, thinking this is the very last time, buddy.

Cosmopolitan

A broad brimmed white hat atop a sleek styled black shiny coiffure adorned the finely boned facial features of the woman walking into the room. A white slim sheath covered her tanned form from neck to calf with six inch heeled sandals strapped to perfectly pedicured toes. Her look was as intentioned as the cool cosmopolitan in her manicured hand.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

It is no mystery
Do not even need a clue
The man is full of temerity
I know you know who.
Yes he was elected
A few years ago
I can’t be to blame
It was not him who got my vote.
You have heard the saying: a bad penny
Keeps turning up?
Well in this case
I think he fits the bill, so yup—
It’s all about Trump.
